Brandon Svarc, 25 years old, born and raised in Montreal…

My family has been in this crazy shmata business for over 50 years! Classic story… my grandfather came to this country with $50 in hand, eventually started selling basics door to door. Then he targeted small boutiques and eventually grew a nice wholesale business. My dad took over and started doing licensing, private label, house labels, etc. Now it’s my turn to create a modern and branded project.

I graduated McGill in Finance and consider myself to be more a “businessman” than a “designer”. It’s not so hard to “design” a 5-pocket jean… try producing, selling and marketing it all at the same time and all by yourself. My jeans are more about the quality and value rather than the superficial “design”. I use the best denim fabric in the world and charge a price lower than any premium brand! I’m trying to make an impact on the global market with this brand. I didn’t want to just make a brand for the sake of having a brand. I’m excited that I get to challenge industry standards and consumer perceptions.

From being in this business for so many years, I always knew the true value of a garment, the Hollywood denim brands are taking people for a ride. There is a clear disparity between the cost and inflated price-tag of ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Glamour’ brands. I don’t think consumers want to pay the extra money anymore just because Jessica Simpson wears the same jean.

I’m proud that Three Monkeys is helping me present this new concept to the consumer. I hope that together we can change people perception of premium denim and show consumers value over glamour. Plus raw Japanese denim is the best anyways! 

SPRING 2012

Naked & Famous Denim is back with another amazing collection! We’ve just received our first wave of Spring/Summer ’12 goodies and everything is looking as fresh and innovative as ever. The best part about this brand, is that no matter how over the top some of their fabrics might seem, the fit is always impecable.
